Vegan & Cruelty-Free Wedding Makeup Artist | Bristol Bridal Makeup

Why Choosing a Vegan & Cruelty-Free Wedding Makeup Artist Matters.

Your wedding day is one of the most meaningful moments of your life, and every choice you make. From your dress to your playlist to your lipstick, it says something about you. For many of my brides, choosing a vegan and cruelty-free wedding makeup artist feels like an extension of their values… and for me, it’s simply the only way I know how to work.

I’m Evie, a Bristol wedding makeup artist, and I’ve been vegan for over eight years. My personal ethics naturally became part of my business, and today my entire professional hair and makeup kit is 100% vegan and cruelty-free – no exceptions, no “mostly”, no “I’ll just make an allowance for this one thing”.
If it’s not vegan and cruelty-free, it doesn’t make it anywhere near my kit.

Why Vegan and Cruelty-Free Makeup Matters to Me

When I first became vegan, it was about living kinder. But very quickly, I realised that beauty products can be a minefield of hidden ingredients and confusing claims. The more I learned, the more I knew I wanted my bridal makeup services to reflect my values: compassion, transparency, and care.

And honestly? Brides genuinely feel better knowing the products on their skin are ethically made.
It’s beauty without compromise – and that’s exactly what you deserve on your wedding day.

Why Some Makeup Isn’t Vegan or Cruelty-Free (And What That Actually Means)

You’d think “cruelty-free” and “vegan” would be simple terms, but the beauty world loves to make things more confusing than they need to be. Here’s the easy version:

Cruelty-free = not tested on animals

A brand can only be cruelty-free if:

They (and their suppliers) don’t test ingredients on animals

Their finished product isn’t tested on animals

They don’t sell in countries requiring animal testing by law

If any one of those is unclear, it’s not truly cruelty-free.

Vegan = contains no animal-derived ingredients

Common non-vegan ingredients that sneak into makeup:

Beeswax (in mascaras, lip balms, brow products)

Carmine (a red pigment made from crushed beetles) – yes, really.

Lanolin (from sheep’s wool)

Collagen (usually animal-based)

Keratin (animal-derived proteins)

When I say my kit is vegan, I mean none of that goes anywhere near your gorgeous bridal face.

What This Means for Your Bridal Makeup

Choosing a vegan and cruelty-free makeup artist doesn’t mean compromising on longevity, quality, or “bridal glow”.
Honestly? Some of the best-performing products on the market are vegan.

Your makeup will still be:
– long-lasting
– fresh and glowing
– tailored to your natural features
– photographed beautifully

… just without harming animals or supporting murky supply chains.

And because my kit is fully vegan, I know every serum, foundation, primer, lipstick, and lash glue is ethical, gentle, and safe – even for sensitive skin.
