In May, I was again lucky enough to get flown out to Provence to do the hair and makeup for Naomi Ross and her bridal party. The booking was a little last minute due to varying factors. I’m so glad that I was able to fly out last minute to help get everyone ready. I love being a destination wedding hair and makeup artist in France. It gives me an opportunity to practice my french in a real setting.
I was booked by Holly at Wanderlust events, who specialises in destination weddings and I cannot recommend her enough. She is basically amazing!
The Trial
Naomi and I luckily had enough time to have a quick hair and makeup trial before her wedding. She flew over from Holland to tie up some wedding loose ends and we were able to coordinate to get a trial sorted.
Naomi had sent a few ideas to me beforehand and suggested that she might want some clip-in hair extensions for her destination wedding. Naomi wanted a high ponytail with clip-in extensions. At the trial, neither of us were convinced that they were the best fit for her wedding. Thankfully, Naomi’s makeup style ideas matched my style perfectly – which is very important when booking a destination wedding hair and makeup artist.
We really wanted to achieve a sunkissed glow for Noami, which wasn’t hard as she is already sunkissed. For me and my pale skin, it’s a little harder ;-). To create this look we used my favourite The Body Shop bronzer mixed in with the foundation.
The Big Day
On the day of the wedding, we once again tried out the clip-in extensions and Naomi was still unsure. After a very quick debate, I threw my opinionated hat into the ring and told her that we should do a simple bun without the extensions. We were both so glad that we opted for this, as it suited the look completely.
The day ran so smoothly thanks to the wonderful team. From Holly at Wanderlust Events, to the venue at Blanche Fleur in Provence, to the flowers by Elise at Floral Design and the photography by Jack Henry and Mitch Ferris.
