I love a good wedding. I especially love it when those weddings take place less than a mile away from my home.
I’m fortunate to be situated right in the city centre of Bristol. It means that as a wedding hair and makeup artist, I am in the perfect location for trials and most of the weddings that take place in the Bristol city centre. If we ever meet, you’ll see how easy it is to get to mine from pretty much anywhere in the city – or the UK.
Harriet contacted me in June 2022 to enquire about having her makeup done for her wedding at The Mount Without in Bristol in August 2023. Harriet’s theme for her wedding was perfect. White flowers, draped linen and candles. This suited The Mount Without so perfectly.
Hair
Harriet and Sam met when they were both working at the same hairdressers and so they decided to have the owner of the salon come and do her hair along with the bridesmaids and mother. This is such a lovely idea and I’m sure the owner was honoured to be asked.
Harriet opted to have her hair down with extensions to add extra fullness to the beautiful curls.
Makeup
Harriet’s requirements were simple. Fresh and dewy. Completely my vibe. Skincare and prep are key when creating any dewy looks. For Harriet’s skin, we cleansed with a gentle micellar water and then prepped it with The Ordinary Hyaluronic serum, Sukin rose face moisturiser and then a Superfacialist eye cream. To get that sought-after glow, I used Charlotte Tilbury’s Hollywood Flawless Filter.
The makeup was simple and fresh, mainly using cream-based products on the skin, such as the Glossier cream bronzer, mixed with a soft berry cream blush from Refy. For the eyes, we used a powder highlighter from Nars and a soft brown shadow from Too Faced.
As I always recommend, Harriet had her own lipstick that she could take with her throughout the day.
The Mount Without is such a beautiful venue and the whole look worked so well and complimented the entire day.
