Wedding season is always full of memorable moments, but this one was definitely up there – not least because of the hash browns (more on that shortly).
I recently had the pleasure of providing wedding hair and makeup for the lovely Noreen and her bridal party at The Square Club in Clifton, Bristol. This venue perfectly blends elegance with a relaxed, intimate atmosphere.
Getting Ready at The Square Club Apartments
One of the things I love most about this venue is that everything is in one place. We spent the morning getting ready in the on-site apartments, which made the whole experience feel calm, organised, and really enjoyable.
The apartments are beautifully styled, with plenty of natural light, which is ideal for bridal hair and makeup. Good lighting makes such a difference, both for application and for those all-important getting-ready photos. It also means no rushing around between locations, which always helps keep the morning relaxed.
A Morning Full of Laughter and Hash Browns
Noreen was an absolute joy to work with. She is genuinely one of the funniest brides I’ve ever worked with – the kind of person who instantly puts everyone at ease. The whole morning was filled with laughter, which created such a lovely, relaxed energy for everyone getting ready.
And yes… she also presented me with hash browns to keep me going during the early start – which may or may not make her one of my favourite brides ever.
Natural, Effortless Bridal Hair and Makeup
For her bridal look, Noreen wanted something soft, modern, and natural. We went for a half-up hairstyle, which worked beautifully to keep her hair off her face while still feeling relaxed and romantic.
Her makeup was all about fresh, glowing skin – a naturally dewy finish with soft definition to enhance her features without feeling heavy. The overall look felt effortless, timeless, and completely her.
The bridal party’s hair and makeup complemented Noreen’s look perfectly, creating a cohesive but individual feel across the group.

Having everything in one location, from getting ready to the ceremony and reception, makes the day flow seamlessly. It also allows you to fully relax and enjoy each part of the day without worrying about logistics.

The day was beautifully captured by Adam Barnard, who documented everything so naturally. From the relaxed moments in the apartment to the celebrations later in the day, the photography reflected the atmosphere perfectly, full of joy, warmth, and personality.
