Everybody goes on holiday over the summer. Guaranteed sunshine, a great atmosphere and a few weeks off of work. What more could a girl want? However, nothing quite beats a wintry break away from all of the hustle and bustle, the dark mornings and windy walks to work.
With that in mind, I’m off to Barcelona in a few weeks to sightsee and visit a few places. Even though I may be cold, there is no reason why I can’t still be stylish and pack economically.
Essentials for the suitcase
Chunky knit: While it may not be anywhere near as cold as the UK or the Alps, it’s certainly not going to be Thailand. Teaming a chunky knit with a lumberjack shirt underneath and some leggings with knee high boots will ensure you are warm and on trend. Perfect seasonal colours this year are warm chocolate, almond or ivory colours.
Fur Coat: Ok, so I know it’s not going to be THAT cold, but that doesn’t mean I can’t get myself an abominable snowman-esque gilet for the romantic walks around the city. Wear a fur coat with a jumper dress, ankle boots and some black tights to keep snug and warm.
Hats, gloves and scarves: These items are actually my favourite part of winter styling. My personal favourites are bobble hats, fingerless gloves and oversized scarves to keep you nice and warm when hit with the elements.
Coral lipstick: It is the shade of the season and surprisingly is wearable with some many outfit colours and choices. Choose either a pink based shade for paler skins or an orange base for olive tones.
Add on a pair of sunnies for the rare times when the sun is shining and you are all set for that little winter holiday!
