Wedding season is in full swing and as I near halfway through I am so happy that I’ve started to receive stunning images from some of my 2024 brides.
Recently, I had the pleasure of driving up to Monmouthshire to work on a flower farm. Yes. You read that right. That happened. I spent the day on a flower farm.
Beautiful bride Ellie contacted me a year or so before her wedding day to ask if I would like to drive through the stunning countryside of Wales to come and get herself, her mum Justine (Far Hill Flowers florist and all-round amazing woman) and a few of her bridesmaids ready for her wedding to Tom.
The makeup
Ellie wanted a fairly natural look for her wedding makeup and her hair to be slightly boho and nothing too ‘done’, which is, of course, my signature style. So we opted for a very natural glow to the skin and emphasised her eyes with cool-toned gold and browns. As always, I recommend that brides find a lipstick that they love and this way, they can top it up throughout the day.
The hair
As a wedding hair stylist, I love to create looks that represent the person and embody the vibe of the day. If, like Ellie, you have opted for an outdoor garden party, something super chic and structured wouldn’t fit the vibe, so I was so glad that Ellie wanted a natural, lived-in look for her hairstyle. We wanted a hairstyle that would work with the incredible flower combs that Ellie’s mum had made for the wedding day so a half up style was perfect for this.
