This Years Bridal Hair And Makeup Trends

2018 Weddings

Yay weddings. 2018 is set to be another busy year for me and my team. I already have 51 weddings booked for this year and the team are looking like they will be equally busy. Do get in touch ASAP to see if we have availability for your wedding date.

Every year, I look forward to seeing what the latest trends will be and with 7 weddings trials and 3 weddings already this year, I may have cracked it.

Makeup

Thankfully, fresh faced makeup is still on trend along with dewy skin which is my ultimate favourite. I love barely there makeup on the skin with an emphasis on the eyes or lips. My key to dewy fresh skin is a few different products, applied thinly. I will then add a little heavier coverage wherever it is needed such as under the eyes or over any blemishes. I love cream highlighters and liquid bronzers for a lovely glowing complexion.

Eyes

Brides tend to shy away from any colours other than bronze and golds. This year however, there has been a few requests for greys such a slate. These are very flattering and still super soft for a wedding day. They also create depth to the face. Make sure to line the top lashes of your eyes with either a pencil or liquid. I prefer a pencil with this eye look and blend it out to create softness.

Lips

I love a bold lip and barely a day will go by without my either applying a vibrant red or a red/brown colour. If you tend to wear a bold lip day to day, then I definitely recommend wearing one of your big day, as long as you can remember to top it up throughout the day. With a brighter lip, comes more admin but it is totally worth it. The opposite applies too; if you never wear a bold lip, your wedding day is not the time to experiment. If you would like to try something a little different, perhaps apply a darker or vibrant colour for the evening reception giving you another look on the day.

Hair

Loose waves are still on trend which is great because they are my ultimate favourite. A lot more brides are opting for hair half up/half down which is just perfect for 2018. Recently I have been seeing a lot of runways using ribbon to hold hair in to a half up/half down style which is just the cutest. Curling hair with a medium sized barrel, adding texturising spray and pulling loosely back with an elastic before hand will give an effortless but elegant style for you big day.
