One of the most common questions I get asked via email from potential brides is – what are the most popular products that I use in my kit. I figured I should share it with you all here. So here are my 5 products found in my professional makeup kit.
1. Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder Foundation
This has been a staple in my kit for a good few years now. Light Wonder foundation has a beautiful, subtle highlight to it. The coverage is light but buildable. I find this foundation to be so perfect for the style that I love to create. Skin looks hydrated, glowing and fresh – mwah!
2. Weleda Skin Food – light and heavy
I know that some artists hate these products but honestly I love them. The heavy version is great for photoshoots. It provides such hydrating and as it is thick, it is a great base for other products. If any brides are suffering from particularly dry skin on their wedding day, this is my go to product.
The light version is just perfect for everyday use. It smells AMAZING, is hydrating and gives a perfect dewy finish for any many later being applied. not to mention that it is a good primer.
3. Glossier cloud paint
These have been a game changer for me. They aren’t vegan which is a real shame so I will be transitioning out of these at some point, but for now, they are staying in my kit. They are also great for darker skin tones – especially the shade Haze. Be warned, they are liquid and they can definitely catch you off guard when you first squeeze from the tube. Less is definitely more with these.
4. Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick
I am a huge lipstick fan. I think it’s because I’m so pale and so are my lips so without any colour, I feel slightly dead. My favourite colours in my own kit are Red Carpet Red and Bond Girl. When buying lipsticks for my kit, I always test them on myself first – it’s a mistake really because then most of my new purchases never quite make it to the makeup kit! These colours are buildable and long wearing which is great. YAY!
5. Elf Waterproof Mascara
I find mascaras so difficult for my kit. You see, I tend to go through one a month (back when working was a thing) and so I need to have a mascara that doesn’t break the bank but that is decent. Luckily Elf fits neatly in to that box. It has great staying power, doesn’t print on to my under eye and it’s vegan. Other favourites include Eyeko and Too Faced.
So there you have it – my 5 products found in my professional makeup kit.
