I’ll admit, I love to travel around the world and I’m lucky that I have worked in some beautiful countries over the last few years, but what I also love, is when weddings are a few streets away from my home in Bristol.
Beautiful Ellie got married to her fiancĂ© Connor in July this year at Paintworks near Bristol City Centre. I don’t want to brag, but Ellie actually moved her wedding date so that I could be there to do her hair and makeup for her wedding day. (I know. I’m as shocked as you!)
The trial
Ellie and I had her wedding hair and makeup trial at my home in Bristol a few weeks before her big day, where we got to discuss all things to do with her wedding; where she’d met Connor, how long they’d been together, where they’re going on honeymoon, and it was so lovely to hear that we were on the exact same page when it came to ideas. Which was also a relief given that she’d based her wedding day around my schedule!
For Ellie’s big day at Paintworks in Bristol, we decided her hair and makeup would be very modern, to keep into the theme of the Paintworks and of course, Ellie’s effortless style. At her bridal hair and makeup trial, we opted for a half-up bun but on the day, we felt that relaxed, loose waves would be perfect for her.
Ellie’s makeup was relaxed but glowing with rosy, fresh cheeks to accentuate her youthful look and to complement her beautiful red hair.
The wedding day
I came to meet Ellie on her wedding day in an Airbnb next door to Paintworks, which was convenient for all of us. Ellie’s friends and family were so lovely to be around and made the whole morning so relaxing and fun. Ellie even created a whole vegan breakfast and snacks for me so that I was well-fed in the lead-up to the wedding.
I had such a blast hanging out and I was really made to feel like I was part of her bridal party.
Thanks so much, Ellie, for having me as your wedding hair and makeup artist for your wedding in Bristol.
