Makeup Travel Essentials – Bath Chronicle

England is in the middle of winter. Not the fun kind of winter. The rainy, cold and grey kind of winter. If you are like me, you will be planning your winter escape over the next few months. I’m going to be heading to warmer climates with the plan to not return until the sun comes out to play.

The hardest decision for me is what to pack and what to leave, because surely I need 5 pairs of high heels in Thailand right?!

Rosehip oil –This oil is a good all-rounder and a favourite among the likes of Rosie Huntington-Whitley and Miranda Kerr. Great for dry skin and as an after sun soother, helping to repair UV damage while nourishing the skin. Rosehip oil can be a great serum for your skin for a little pick me up on the plane too.

Mini Shampoo, conditioner and shower gel – You can get these from almost any supermarket. Some hotels and hostels will supply them for you, but sometimes, it’s not worth the risk. Dry shampoo is ideal for those days when you may just need a quick refresh.

Face wipes – I do have a strong hatred for face wipes, but sometimes they are necessary and they are very convenient for space and time savings. Make sure that you load up on face cream to avoid any tightness or dryness caused by them.

Face cream with SPF – If you are going to be using face wipes then a good face cream is a good idea. Getting a moisturiser with an SPF is essential regardless of whether you are going to a hot climate or staying in the UK. The sun is always peeking through the clouds so it’s best to cover up when you can and grab a hot to protect your head whenever you can.
Sunblock – This one is pretty obvious. It is important to note that some countries have different regulations regarding the SPF, so it is best to pack your own just in case.
Waterproof Mascara – If you can’t possibly live without mascara then opt for a waterproof version to be on the safe side. Your mascara will stay put through the beach parties, the pool and the heat.

Tinted moisturiser/BB cream – A good tinted moisturiser or BB cream with an SPF is a great idea for evenings out and for photo opportunities. Just apply a little to areas that need a little coverage and you are good to go.

Coconut Oil – This is possibly one of my favourite products. It is great for removing makeup, moisturising your skin and as a conditioner for your hair. Coconut oil is my go to product for travelling. Decant some in to a smaller container for ease and space saving.
