5 Tips For Nailing Your Dream Wedding Makeup Look

Your wedding day is all about feeling your most beautiful, and makeup plays a huge role in that. To help you create the perfect wedding look, here are 5 tips for bridal makeup. From timeless classics to modern trends, these will make sure you dazzle on your special day!

Start With a Great Skincare Routine.

Before you can apply your wedding makeup, it’s important to start with a great skincare routine. Use a gentle cleanser and moisturizer to cleanse and nourish your skin. This is important in the lead-up to your wedding day, not just the day itself. Having a good skincare routine will help create a smooth palette for your foundation and other products. Don’t forget to use an SPF product to keep your skin healthy in the long run. It’s important to use an SPF every. single. day. Not just on the days when the sun is out. Choose an SPF of 30 or higher and make sure it is separate from your moisturiser.

Get the glow.

I have two (current) favourite products to get a natural-looking glow. My first one is Charlotte Tilbury Wonderglow primer and the second is a liquid bronzer by The Body Shop. Apply the Charlotte Tilbury before foundation and mix a little of the liquid bronzer into your foundation for a sun-kissed look.

Liquids And Creams Are Your Friends

I rarely use any powder if I can help it. With the exception of eyeshadows. Liquid blush, bronzers and highlighters and so perfect to blend into your skin and to make everything look seamless and natural.

Lip Balm

I love lipstick, but honestly, more recently I have been moving away from a solid lip colour. Nowadays I am applying either a tinted lip balm like this one or mixing a clear lip balm with my favourite lipstick.

Use Minimal Powder

As I said before, I’m not a fan of powder. On most of my shoots and weddings, I only use powder where absolutely necessary. In places such as under the eyes, around the nose and top lip, plus a little on the forehead. Your skin will glow in the other places but won’t look sweaty.
